The Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine is published quarterly and is written by some of the top fly fishers and outdoor writers in Canada.  The magazine was Canada's first fly fishing publication when it debuted in 1999.  Since, The Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine has established itself as the leader in the Canadian fly fishing industry and continues to grow across Canada as well as over 32 other countries World wide.  Our dedication to bring our readers the very best in Canadian fly fishing is a cornerstone of our success and we look forward to continuing our mission for years to come.

Editorial Mission Statement:

The Canadian Fly Fisher informs fly fishers on the techniques, destinations and unique heritage of Canadian fly fishing & fly tying.  In addition, we have a powerful conservation focus, aimed at protecting the environment of our rivers, lakes and coastal waters.  We are also committed to showcasing new materials and equipment of interest to fly fishers. 


Chris Marshall - Editor-in-Chief
Chris has been an outdoors writer and field editor for over twenty years, and is a member of the Outdoor Writers of Canada. His articles have appeared in magazines in Canada, the US, Britain, and Australia; he's the author of Fly Fishing Across Canada, and has run successful fly fishing schools. Recently he was awarded the Gregory Clark Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts of Fly Fishing for the second time, for publishing the Canadian Fly Fisher magazine.
 
Nick Pujic - Managing Editor / Marketing Manager
Nick lives in Belleville on the scenic Bay of Quinte and operates from The Canadian Fly Fisher Magazine headquarters. From his base there, he takes his fly rod in pursuit of anything with fins throughout Eastern Ontario’s diverse watersheds.  With a strong passion for fly fishing, tying, and photography Nick assists in operating a multitude of fly fishing related websites as well as being a freelance writer and photographer.

Nick is also responsible for the magazine's marketing & sales initiatives, including www.canflyfish.com.
 
 
Paul Marriner - Associate Editor
Paul is a seven-time member of the Canadian fly fishing team -as captain from 1994-6 and again in 2000. He is one of Canada's most prolific fly fishing writers, with articles appearing in magazines in Canada, USA, and Australia. His specialty is Atlantic salmon and he has written four books on this subject, most recently Modern Atlantic Salmon Flies.
 
Jim McLennan - Field Editor (Alberta)
Jim is one of Alberta's most experienced and literate fly fishers. An award-winning outdoor writer and author of a number of books, including Blue Ribbon Bow, he also hosted the popular TV fly fishing show, Iron Blue Fly Fishing. He is a founding director of both the Calgary and Edmonton TU Canada chapters.
 
April Vokey - Field Editor (West Coast)
April lives in Chilliwack, B.C., where she spends most of her days on the local rivers hunting for wild steelhead, spey rod in hand. Also an avid fly-tyer, April’s passion lies with classic and modern Atlantic salmon patterns and techniques. Aside from her passion for fly fishing and fly tying, April is a first year Biology student and hopes to some day pursue a future in fisheries.
 
Rory Glennie - Field Editor (Vancouver Island)
Rory is a master fly tyer and designer of several popular patterns; a saltwater and freshwater fly fishing guide on Vancouver Island; and has twice been a member of the Canadian Fly Fishing Team. He is a member of the Outdoor Writers of Canada, the Haig-Brown Kingfisher Creek Society, and the IGFA. He is co-author of The Ardent Angler and The Essential Guide to Fly Fishing in BC. Rory was recently the recipient of an OWC award for his article on Roderick Haig-Brown in this publication.
 
Brian Chan - Field Editor (BC Interior)
Brian has lived in the southern B.C. interior for the past 27 years. This area is known for its spectacular stillwater trout fishing, as well as being close to some of the province's best inland river fishing. When not managing trout fisheries for the provincial government, Brian is usually out fly fishing or writing about it.
 
Bill Charles - Field Editor (Prairies)
Bill has fished extensively throughout North America and Europe in fresh and salt water during the past 25 years. He's also been a fly fishing instructor and guide. His forte, however, is as a fly tyer, especially of realistic pattern. A number of his flies have been featured on fly tying web sites. He makes his home in Winnipeg.
 
Duane Radford - Field Editor (The Canadian North)
Duane is a freelance writer and photographer from Edmonton, Alberta, whose writing and photographs have appeared in many outdoor publications in Canada and the United States. Duane is the former Director of Alberta’s fisheries branch as well as having worked as a regional director and regional fisheries biologist. He is certified as a Fisheries Scientist by the American Fisheries Society and has fished throughout much of Canada.
 
Scott Earl Smith - Field Editor (Northern Ontario)
Scott is a freelance writer and photographer whose work has been published in most major North American fly fishing publications. A frequent contributor to The Canadian Fly Fisher, Scott is also the author of Ontario Blue-Ribbon Fly Fishing Guide. He is active on the lecture circuit. He lives in Thunder Bay at the western end of Lake Superior.
 
AJ Somerset - Field Editor (Southern Ontario)
Andrew is an award-winning freelance journalist whose work has appeared in the major American fly fishing magazines and several other outdoor publications. He is a member of the Outdoor Writers of Canada and a past president of the Forest City Fly Fishing Club in London, Ontario where he lives.
 
Don Maclean - Field Editor (East Coast)
Don is a fishery biologist in Nova Scotia. An avid angler and fly tyer, Don has written for a number of outdoor publications. He makes his home in the town of Pictou, which puts him in the heart of some of Atlantic Canada's finest trout and salmon fishing.
 
Thibaut Millet - Field Editor (Quebec)
Thibaut is an enthusiastic fly fisher who moved to Canada from France. Having grown up in Europe chasing spooky browns and finicky grayling in France’s chalk-streams, Thibaut is a long time freelance contributor to France’s leading fly-fishing magazine. He now lives in Montreal, fishing for trout, bass and Atlantic salmon in the East.
 
Sheldon Seale - Fly Tying Editor
Sheldon is an award winning fly tyer who is regularly called upon to demonstrate his skills in Canada and the USA. He's also an instructor/guide for the Grand River Guides Co-op. As a resident of Toronto he's an active member of the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club. Sheldon is also involved in TU (Canada) in southern Ontario.
 
Glen Hales - CFF Photographer
Even when casting a line, chasing a storm or roaming the woods for wildlife, Glen carries the camera right beside him. An angler since he was old enough to walk, he took up fly fishing in the late eighties. Glen has been a freelance outdoor photographer and a professional fishing guide since 1993.
 
Mark Krupa - CFF Photographer
Viewed by CFF to be the absolute best at what he does, Mark has worked as freelance outdoor photographer, writer, editor and correspondent for numerous North-American and International publications for the past 15 years. In addition to working as camp manager for exclusive lodges on Russia's Kola Peninsula, he has led tours in Siberia, Northern India, and the Amazon. Having contributed to a variety of magazines, calendars, brochures, newspapers, journals, and books, Mark's most recent project has been the highly successful fly fishing TV series "Hooked With Mark Krupa".
 
Marcel Saring - CFF Photographer
An avid fisherman since he was 5 , Marcel has fished extensively throughout Ontario. Recently he spent four years exploring New Brunswick’s rivers and streams including the fabled Miramichi. While living in NB his interest in fly fishing and the art of fly tying intensified and he learned from many accomplished fly tyers. He continues to be an active member in the local fly tying clubs wherever he resides. Photography has been a hobby for many years and when he started taking his camera to the water with him he found the perfect match. Marcel now lives in Belleville and is re-discovering Ontario’s great waters with fly rod and camera in hand.
 
 
Paul Langford - Sales Manager
Born and raised in the Quinte area Paul is well versed in many types and techniques of fishing. Growing up in a community of vast waterways Paul began fishing as soon as he was able to hold a rod. Being a hard-core dedicated fisherman, Paul has had the opportunity to fish some of the top hotspots in Canada and the U.S. Paul has most recently agreed to take on the task of organizing and managing the first ever CFF Pro Staff Team. With his knowledge of business strategies as well as his insight in to fly fishing, Paul is a welcomed member of the CFF Team. Expect to hear more from Paul and his CFF Pro Staff Team in the near future!
 
 
Nancy Cairns - Office Manager
Nancy has been camping since she could walk. Her father, being the greatest influence for her love of the outdoors, took her on hikes every Sunday and canoe camping on long weekends. Inevitably fishing entered the picture. She's a graduate of Loyalist College. She's earned her diploma in both Print and Broadcast Journalism. She loves writing and photography/film.
 
 
Jason Marshall - IT Manager
Taught fly-fishing at an early age by his father, Jason turned away from the arts of fly-casting to pursue his vocation of computer programming and systems design and analysis. A graduate of the Loyalist College Information System Program, Jason has spent the last 8 years working in the field of computer, software, hardware and systems design and analysis. His joining the team is now allowing him to once again pick up a fly rod and take some time to enjoy the arts of fly-casting once more after a busy day of keep the office’s computer hardware and software running smoothly.
