Introducing:
Fly Max Films

Fifteen years ago, A River Runs Through It sparked an explosion of new interest in fly fishing. For some of those who were prompted to pick up the long rod for the first time, fly fishing was no more than a passing fad, but for many others it opened up a whole new world of outdoor experience - they caught the magic, the passion, and they stuck with it. While we won’t even pretend that they’re in the same league as A River Runs Through It, in 2008, a new wave of entertaining and engaging fly fishing films will be introduced by Fly Max Films, a new Canadian film production company with close ties to The Canadian Fly Fisher.

All Fly Max Films productions will have a distinct purpose: to spark the interest of those who don’t fly fish, by demonstrating that fly fishing is fun, exciting and nowhere near as hard to learn as popular myth would make it. By taking a completely fresh approach, during the past few months, we’ve captured some of the most honest, funny and exciting moments in fly fishing, and collected them in a series of short films. It is our hope that these will win over the hearts of non-fly fishers across Canada and the US, especially youngsters, bringing them to experience the excitement and passion of fly fishing—and stick with it.

Although the first of these high definition films won’t be available until late 2007, we’ve made an exclusive five minute trailer available on www.canflyfish.com to give The Canadian Fly Fisher readers a special sneak preview!
